Calligraphy is an amazing and beautiful part of our culture. ‘Letterospective’ is not just a book; it is the art as seen through the eyes and works of one artist. It also shows how Indian Calligraphy can become a viable and respected profession. Apart from sharing his life’s experiences, this initiative is an attempt of noted Calligrapher, Achyut Palav to inspire young artists and at the same time convey sincere thanks to all those who have inspired him. The book illustrates his journey from Blackboards to Canvases. It has been conceptualized to show the transformation of letters and manifestation of thoughts on paper using various tools and medium. A variety of compositions featured, are the metamorphosis of an idea, notion or a philosophy into design. Apart from Achyut’s experiences and experiments, Letterospective also has calligraphic work done by him in India and Abroad. Along with photos and memories of his gurus,one can read views of experts, celebrated artists and eminent personalities (Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Gulzar Ji, Nana Patekar, eminent calligraphers like Prof. Werner Schneider, Prof. R. K. Joshi, Katharina Pieper, Paul Antonio and more).

Letterospective is a story of how one letter transpired a dialogue, how a letter gave birth to a design and how a single stroke was created in a single breath.
